10 Signs Your Dog Loves You

You think your dog loves you? Well here are 10 signs that they truly do!

1. They stare directly into your eyes. I mean think about looking into your significant others eyes and feeling that deep connection… Your dog gets those feelings too!
2. Their tail supposedly wags to the right. Veterinarians have done studies to prove that your dog wags its tail to the right when they see their owner or someone they love. Then they put the dog in front of a stranger, another dog, and then a cat and their tail wagged to the left. Next time you see your dog, see if their tail wags to the right!
3. They lift their eyebrows when they see you. Again, veterinarians have done studies to see when dog’s owners walk into a room, they raise their eyebrows. When a stranger walks into the room, their ears perk up, which is a sign for “doggie caution”.
4. They yawn when we yawn. Dogs want to mirror our actions. So if they see us yawning, they think it is emotional bonding when they do what we do.
5. They want to sleep in our beds or at least our bedrooms. Dogs are distant family members to wolves. Wolves are known for their tight packs. Their packs never get separated and always want to be together even when they sleep. So our dogs think that we are part of their “pack”.
6. They bring you toys. Dogs do this because, yes, they want to play but also to give you something important to them. Even when they bring you dead animals that they hunted, just remember that the dead rat they brought you is a love offering!
7. They get excited when you get home after being gone. When you get home after work or going to the grocery store, you are sure to see eyebrow raises, toy sharing, and right tail wagging. They are overly happy to see you!
8. They nudge you to pet them. Dogs release certain hormones when being pet, kind of like when we get back/foot massages. It is pleasing to them. They get more of a high off this “hug hormone” when women pet them verses men! (Don’t worry guys, your dog still loves you)
9. They want cuddles after their dinner. This shows that you are the most important thing to them after they eat. They got a nice full belly and ready to love on their favorite person!
10. They lick you. Again, studies show that dogs’ brains release endorphins when they lick you. So they want to love and kiss on you as much as possible. Remember, that if you have food on your face and they lick that off….That might be them licking you for a different reason!

Make sure to pay extra attention to your doggo and see how much they TRULY love you!
