The New Tax Plan and how it affects YOU! Part 2
The New Tax Plan and how it affects YOU! Part 2
And the winner is… First Time Home Buyers!
If you are a new home buyer, buying a home under $750,000 is the new cap for home mortgage interest that you can deduct on your income tax. Mortgage interest is still a very good tax benefit. If you are renting you cannot write any of your rent off, but if you are a home owner, you can write off your mortgage interest. This is still one of the greatest write offs available to the average American.
Another Winner is Existing Homeowners which we will talk about in Part 3, our next post. Remember to always talk to your tax professional for more specifics.
