Time to Spring Clean!!

“I absolutely love spring cleaning!” said no one ever…

It’s that time of year again to deep clean the house, and let’s be completely honest, it’s exhausting. So here is a checklist to keep you all on track and it will only take a few hours each day this weekend!! That is my kind of spring cleaning! So here we go…

Friday:

Let’s get all of those dishes done and de-clutter the house. It’s much easier to get the big stuff done when you aren’t stressing about all of the little daily chores.

Clean all of those leftovers that no one is going to eat out of the fridge! And honestly, a lot of those leftovers probably aren’t good to eat anyways. This will make it easier to clean the fridge later this weekend.

Lastly, vacuum/sweep the entire house. If you still have energy left, feel free to mop also.

Call it a day! Go to bed and rest.

Saturday:

Throw your bedding into the wash! This should be done weekly anyways but might as well get it done while you’re cleaning everything else. Don’t forget the kids bedding and guest bedrooms.

Time to tackle the kitchen! First, let’s start with the cabinets. Give them a good scrub and use a magic eraser for those stubborn spots.

Clean that fridge! The shelves are probably all sticky and covered in who knows what… It’s time to scrub those things. After scrubbing and putting back the shelves, time to organize everything! The more organized your fridge is, the easier it is to find things in there!

3…2…1… Microwave! I got a hack for you so you don’t have to scrub the heck out of it. Get a small bowl filled with half water and half vinegar with a toothpick or wooden spoon in it (this will prevent it from exploding everywhere). Microwave on high for 5-10 minutes (microwave for longer if it is REALLY nasty in there) and then wipe out the microwave. Ta da! All clean!

Clean the stovetop. If you have a gas stove, toss all of the parts into a sink with hot water and soap then let it soak for 15 minutes. Use steel wool to scrub it down. Quick and easy!

Oh goodness, time for that oven. Is it just me or is this THE WORST PART??? Make this the last thing you do before bed. Pull the racks out, make a paste with baking soda and water then spread it all over the oven. Take the oven racks, lay some towels down in the bathtub, and then fill it with some hot water and a good amount of dish soap. Put the racks in there to soak overnight. Then call it a day. We’ll deal with the rest tomorrow.

Sunday:

Good morning! Let’s finish that oven, shall we? Scrub down those racks with a sponge and then rinse them off. Use a damp cloth to clean out the baking soda paste from the oven. Get an old spray bottle and put white vinegar in it. Apply the vinegar to any spots that didn’t come clean and repeat this if necessary until it’s shining! Not so bad right? Done with the oven!

Let’s get to dusting! Shelves, tabletops, nightstands, baseboards, and don’t forget those ceiling fans!! Get it all!

Do a thorough cleaning of the bathrooms. Deep clean everything. We all know if you have a boy in the house, the bathroom needs a DEEP cleaning. Gross, but it needs done.

Lastly, run to the store. Grab some fresh flowers. While you’re there, grab a pizza and some cookies because you freakin’ deserve it! #TreatYoSelf. When you get home, spread the flowers around the house to add a little spring to the inside. Sit on your couch, eat those cookies, and bask in a job well done!!

Happy Spring Cleaning!
